Due to the restrictions imposed during the Second World War, jeans produced in that era underwent drastic changes, to the point that they were identified by an "S" (Simplified) designation.
Laurel leaf buttons—the laurel symbolizing peace and victory—and plain donut buttons replaced the branded hardware. The cinch back, crotch rivet, and coin pocket rivets were eliminated. Construction was simplified and less refined: the back pockets were attached without bar tacks, being secured instead with simple straight stitching.
These jeans were often recognizable for their hurried construction and remarkably imprecise sewing.
One particularly distinctive feature was the use of a wide variety of fabrics for the pocket bags, including HBT (herringbone twill), flannel, and denim.
The WWIIZZ model meticulously incorporates all of these distinctive characteristics that defined the jeans of that period.
Made one at a time, these are not replicas—they are a faithful interpretation of a manufacturing process that no longer exists. Each pair is unique in the truest sense of the word.

- 13Oz Loom state selvedge denim made by Shinya Mills
- High rise, regular straight
- 13 to 14 vintage period correct industrial sewing machines
- All yellow stitches
- Hand folded seam allowances (no iron)
- 4 to 5 different thread sizes
- 100% cotton sewing threads (made in japan)
- Donuts "S" wire buttons
- No coin pocket rivets
- No bar tack on backpockets
- Button fly overlocked only on the upper part, frayed edges on the inside part
- Frayed edges on inside crotch
- Frayed seam edge inside the pockets
- Green HBT pocket lining (made in japan) or 10Oz denim pocket lining, or Plaid flannel pocket lining.
- No rivets labeling
- Two prong copper plated hidden rivets
- 1 operator
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
When placing the order you can choose to get your jeans Raw or One Wash.
- When choosing the "One Wash" option, please refer to the size chart below in the product description. You may also add your desired inseam length.
- When choosing the "Raw" option, I recommend going up one or two sizes, depending on your preferred washing process. Please note that this denim will shrink by approximately 2 waist sizes and 8 cm (3 inches) in length after machine washing.
Feel free to specify your desired inseam length when placing your order. The jeans will be cut accordingly to achieve the correct length after they have been washed by you.
